These visuals capture the transformation of fall, journeying from the soft, golden hues of autumn evening to the deepening tones of nightfall. In the top piece, a moonlit staircase leads up a hill framed by vibrant trees; a scattering of fallen leaves on the first step hints at the grounding effect of focusing on each small step when the path ahead feels overwhelming. Below, a darker scene highlights a solitary autumn tree with spiraling branches, its leaves drifting into the starry sky—a quiet reflection of fall's transition into colder, windier weeks as it wanes toward winter. The adjacent column of paintings—ranging from light to dark—further explores this graceful shift, mirroring nature’s transition through color and light.
A Trip to Bhutan

This painting draws inspiration from my trip to Bhutan, a landlocked South Asian country nestled in the eastern Himalayas. Using a palette knife to create texture and depth on a large canvas, I wanted to use an impressionistic style to capture the essence of the landscape. This is in contrast to the clean lines of the structure at the centre of the painting, which were rendered with a fine brush. The choice of complementary colours further emphasizes the contrast of the manmade structure amidst the rolling hills.

This picture was taken at Carton Gardens in Melbourne, Australia. At dawn, Carlton Gardens transforms into a golden wonderland. The ground is carpeted with the brilliant yellow leaves of Maidenhair Trees, reflecting the soft morning light. The golden fountain glistens as it catches the first rays of the sun, and the majestic Royal Exhibition Building stands proudly in the background, bathed in a warm, golden glow. It’s a serene and enchanting scene, perfect for a peaceful morning stroll.
Hanshan Temple (寒山寺）

Hanshan Temple（寒山寺）, a famous temple in Suzhou（苏州）, China, evokes the solitude in Zhang Ji’s（张继）poem “Night Mooring at Maple Bridge《枫桥夜泊》.” Like the poet’s lonely night, medical students often feel isolated on their demanding journey. Yet, the temple’s enduring presence and the midnight bell symbolize resilience and connection, reminding students of their shared pursuit and strength.
